What are your guesses? Strength? No. Genetics? No. Working out? Not necessarily. Nutrition? Kind of. The two monumental foundations of fitness are QUALITY and CONSISTENCY. Whether its exercise or nutrition, two very crucial elements to building your fitness and improving your health, they have to be executed with quality and then consistency.
When it comes to exercise, improving the way you move is fundamental to preventing injury and targeting appropriate muscle groups. It isn’t the programming or the weights that matter, it’s the way in which you execute the program. With nutrition it’s all about the quality of your food. Move better, move longer. Eat better, feel better.
Once the quality is high, it’s all about consistency. Fitness is not available quickly. It is built over months then years of consistency. Good movement done over and over leads to strong muscles and healthy joints. Quality food chosen over junk leads to lean bodies and healthy insides month after month year after year.
It’s hard to do either alone. That’s why a coach is so important. Their eyes and cues help you move better so you can keep moving consistently. Their accountability helps you make better choices. Don’t be afraid to ask for help.
